On Monday Evening (3rd) we will be updating your copy of Train Simulator 2013. The update includes over 90 small additions, fixes and improvements to the software. It is not a particularly large update in memory terms - around 30MB.
If you are making content, make sure you have backed up before the upgrade starts. If you are not sure how to do this, read below.
Backup Assets and Content - All Users
If you're using Windows 64 bit and have Steam / Train Simulator installed in the default locations, back up the entire content of these folders to a safe place:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Content
If you're using Windows 32 bit and have Steam / Train Simulator installed in the default locations, back up the entire content of these folders to a safe place:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Content
Backup Source Files - For Content Creators Only
Copy everything in your Source folder to a backup drive or directory for safe keeping.
If you are using 64 bit windows, you will find it here by default:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Source
If you are using 32 bit windows, you will find it here by default:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Source
